AI workflows that drive real outcomes
AI becomes valuable when it has a clear job, the right context, and a controlled place inside the workflow.
AI & WorkflowsThe useful question is not “Where can we add AI?” It is “Which part of this workflow requires interpretation, and what would a reliable assist look like?”
Give AI a bounded responsibility.
Classification, extraction, drafting, comparison, and summarization are clearer jobs than “handle the process.” A bounded role makes quality measurable and failure easier to contain.
Design the human checkpoints.
Human review should appear where the cost of error, ambiguity, or irreversible action is high. The point is not to review everything; it is to review the right things.
- Define acceptable confidence.
- Route low-confidence cases.
- Preserve source evidence.
- Record corrections for improvement.
Connect the output to action.
An AI result that lands in another inbox is not a completed workflow. The output should update the right record, notify the right owner, and make the next action unmistakable.
